Born in the closet of a hospital in
Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania (literally),
John Wascavage has been
performing for both his family and anyone
else who would listen since he can remember.
John graduated with a
BFA in Musical Theatre from
Point Park University.
He moved to NYC almost 8 years ago, and has been actively pursuing a career in musical theatre since.
Here is what the CRITICS say about John:
"Wascavage evokes a superb image of the bewildered, sweet and innocent Candide."
~Gordon Spencer, Pittsburgh City Paper
THE WEDDING SINGER:
"Wascavage stops the show with his genuinely funny solo 'George’s Prayer.' [He]has the audience howling ..."
~Kevin Zimmerman, Times Ledger
"I thought you would have had more Solos."
BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON:
"With... John Wascavage (multiple roles) making the biggest impressions by really dialing into the show's peculiar sense of humor."
~Brooke Pierce, EDGE NYC
NEXT TO NORMAL:
"Wascavage’s Henry is adorably dorky and innocently enamored with Natalie... he struggles to find his words and offers beautiful vocals as he does so. "
~Caroline Cunfer, Washington Square News
"I knew the son was dead right off the bat. And did you really have to curse so much?"
MURDER FOR TWO:
"In this performance, an outrageously funny, gifted actor, understudy John Wascavage took on the daunting task of playing the role of “The Suspects... One by one the guests “appear” and with his rubber face and elastic body akin to Jim Carey or the famous physical comedian Frank Gorshin, Wascavage shifts into each of the characters in a nanosecond."
~ Beverly Cohn, Santa Monica Mirror
